Businesses frequently store data across multiple systems that are accessed by various teams and applications. In order to gain further insight and value from the data as a whole, either systems are redefined or additional new technology is required, these can be costly. There is another approach.

My personal ambition is to create a more business process embedded approach. Technology is clearly a key component to a businesses data however the importance of People and Process in a data driven exercise cannot be understated.

People should own the processes they choose to develop and undertake. If technology does not adequately support people with their processes, the technology will not be used and this can impact attempts to extract value out of data.
